The 4 litre V8 engine is similar to the V8 engine used in the racing car although it has been adapted and altered to meet emission standards as well as noise regulations. The road car has nearly no forms or manifestations of comfort equipment. Large amounts of carbon fibre are used on the body for parts such as the roof and the rear spoiler, which also improves the car's aerodynamics in much the same manner as the race car. The car shares many of the weight saving aspects from the race car which it is based on. It had a limited production run of 10 units and was engineered as a near perfect replication of the racing M3 GTR.
